CAT (Common Admission Test) is NOT required for most MBA colleges in Pune. In fact, the best MBA college in Pune — SIBM Pune (NIRF #13) — doesn't even accept CAT scores. Symbiosis colleges only take SNAP scores. PUMBA (the top government MBA college) takes MAH-CET MBA scores. MIT-SOM, BIMM, Indira Institute accept MAT, CMAT, and MAH-CET.
If you haven't appeared for CAT or couldn't clear the cutoff, Pune has excellent MBA options via alternative exams. SNAP 2025 (December) is your best bet for top SIBM/SCMHRD. MAH-CET MBA (March 2026) gives access to PUMBA and 400+ Maharashtra colleges. CMAT (January 2026) is accepted by MIT-SOM, BIMM and many others.
This guide covers which exam to take for which Pune MBA college, exact cutoffs, dates, and how to apply.
