Pune's law colleges divide cleanly along a line that decides most of the outcome: the aided colleges feed litigation and the judiciary, and the deemed universities feed corporate law firms. Knowing which side of that line you want to be on tells you more than any ranking of the list. ILS Law College, running since 1924, has the deeper network across the Bombay High Court and the district judiciary, and charges ₹25,000 to ₹50,000 a year. Symbiosis Law School is the corporate route — newer, ₹3L to ₹4L a year, with firm recruitment that ILS does not match. Bharati Vidyapeeth's New Law College sits between them on both cost and positioning, and there is a set of smaller private colleges below at ₹40,000 to ₹1L. The course decision comes before the college. The five-year integrated BA LLB or BBA LLB is taken straight after Class 12; the three-year LLB requires a completed bachelor's degree first. Both produce the same practising qualification. Admission runs through three non-overlapping channels — MH-CET Law for the state and aided colleges, SLAT for Symbiosis, and institute entrances for other deemed universities. The one non-negotiable check on any college in the list is current Bar Council of India approval, without which the degree will not let you enrol as an advocate.
